Growing up around the craft, Dennis learned the fundamentals long before starting his own company. With over 10 years of hands-on experience and a family legacy spanning more than two decades in the trade, that foundation shows in every project. At NorthBase, we start at just $4 per square foot — making us one of the most affordable options in the Portland area without cutting corners on quality. We provide detailed written estimates with line-item pricing so you know exactly what you're paying for.
We install all types of hardwood (solid and engineered), luxury vinyl plank (LVP), laminate, and we do full refinishing and repairs on existing hardwood floors. Whatever your space needs, we have a solution.
A typical 1,000 sq ft installation takes 3-5 days, including acclimation time. Refinishing projects usually take 2-4 days depending on the number of coats and drying time. We'll give you a specific timeline during your consultation.
We serve the entire Portland, Oregon metro area including surrounding communities like Lake Oswego, Beaverton, Tigard, Hillsboro, West Linn, Milwaukie, Gresham, Clackamas, Happy Valley, Tualatin, Oregon City, and more.
Absolutely. We are a CCB licensed contractor, fully insured and bonded. You can verify our license status through the Oregon Construction Contractors Board.
Yes! We do custom stain matching and always test on a sample board first. Wood species and age affect the final color, so we work with you until you're happy with the match.
LVP (luxury vinyl plank) is 100% waterproof and great for kitchens, bathrooms, and basements. Laminate is more affordable and works well in bedrooms and living areas but isn't waterproof. We'll help you choose the right option for each room.
Light foot traffic (socks only) is usually okay after 24 hours. Wait 48-72 hours before replacing furniture, and 2 weeks before placing area rugs. We'll give you a detailed care sheet.
